Kamusta. Way'. Hello. Bonjour.

My given name Samantha, means “the listener” and “flower”. Jade signifies wisdom gathered in tranquility. Both names resonate with the medicine I offer in this lifetime.

Recollections of sensing energy as a child

My first memories of sensing energies go back to when I was four years old. I was extremely shy, and hid behind my parents’ legs feeling (being) protected by their physical bodies (energetic fields).  I knew when certain spaces were unsafe and sensed how others felt without actually speaking to them.  I was called “bruja” (witch in Tagalog) when I was seen as a mess, but liked that I had the name of a witch from a television show.  I was extremely scared to be left alone because of the fear of  “mumus” (diminutive Tagalog word for ghost, multo).  I enjoyed making potions with the earth, perfumes with flowers and healing my wounded stuffy toys.  I also felt the need to make ceremonies for animals I found deceased. I used my singing voice to share, honour and celebrate key moments in people's lives, always being asked to sing for church, funerals, birthdays and weddings.

Today I use these gifts of sensing and seeing, singing and channeling for individuals, groups and communities who are ready to see their own purposes, to point out what is needed in their healing journey and to use them for the greater good.

Death as a teacher

I lost many loved ones as a youth. In a span of a few years, I lost two uncles to HIV, a close cousin to a drug overdose, and my first love to a drunk driving accident. This brought great grief and sorrow. This also brought me closer to contemplating the importance of death and life.

Later on, I was fortunate to witness my patriarchal grandfather and grandmother (separately) take their last breath on this earth. Seeing their bodies breathing and then with one last slow exhale, observing  life leave their vessels within an instant, was a pivotal teaching for me.

Today, I have supported those transitioning as well as those who may be stuck or lost between worlds. I can assist in clearing spaces and bodies of lower entities and frequencies and carry out home blessings. I am able to communicate with deceased persons (mediumship).

Deep listening is the kind of listening that can help relieve the suffering of another person.

aligned with purpose & compassion

My testimony

Through inquisitive conversations with trusted friends, I was guided to receive reiki for healing purposes. In my first session, I felt an accumulated suffering surface. Suffering that I had been carrying in my body for many years and lifetimes. I sensed warmth, relaxation and safety. There was a release and brightness felt within. In this first session, I met my wounds that needed acknowledgement and was assisted in releasing energy that I didn’t know I was holding. I received affirmations of my gifts as a healer and plant medicine maker. This is also where I met my reiki and mindfulness teacher, Salima Pirani.

After my first attunement in reiki, I was able to offer healing to my grandmother as she was transitioning. I witnessed her take her last breaths as I placed my hands on her feet. I felt how my offerings were greater than me and felt her spirit leave her body through her crown. The more I offered reiki to others, the more I understood that I needed to continue this work; for myself, for my community and for my global family. I also reconnected with my singing voice as medicine.

Through the years, I have met other Healers, Elders and Brujas. I have had the privilege to work and be led by teachers with quality hearts, who are aligned with purpose and compassion.  Through the practice of reiki, mindfulness, healing circles & ceremonies, dhamma talks and time spent with Mama earth, I have learned how to take care of myself with ease. Through these experiences, it is when I have courage to see what is within, that allows me to heal, offer, listen, hold space, and guide others to be and walk in and with their higher selves.
